Job Description:

   Our client, a leading company in the specialty metals industry is seeking a Regional Account Manager to handle accounts and grow their business in the Midwest region. Basic requirements are as follows:

Position title:                 Account Manager

Overview description:   Grows sales by developing new accounts and managing established accounts via direct customer contact.  Provide objective market and customer feedback to the organization.

Department:                  Sales

Reports to:                   Sales Manager - Precision Strip

Core Duties (5 – 8 key areas):

  1. Develops new accounts by: a) qualifying sales leads to prospects; b) developing prospects (relationship, intelligence, solicit proposals); c) make and close proposals.  Development status is routinely documented and communicated to aid and promote coordination with the business team.
  2. Maximize established account margin dollars by managing volume share, pricing strategy, relationships, product development(s), and account maintenance  Development status is routinely documented and communicated to aid and promote coordination with the business team.
  3. Provide Customer and Market Intelligence.  Routinely document and communicate customer and market information noting trends, potentials, products consumed, competitive information, new products and business opportunities.
  4. Strategy Development.  Use customer and market intelligence as basis to develop sales strategy resulting in: a) development of maintenance of detailed customer strategies for target accounts; b) forecasts for inventory strategy revenue projections; and c) annual budgets and mid-term strategy development.
  5. Act as a process facilitator for business/product development and problem-resolution issues with our customers by coordinating company resources (e.g. Commercial, Technical, Operational, Financial).
  6. Develop and maintain professional skills, and current product and market knowledge to enhance effectiveness for company and value to our customers.
